Website Privacy and Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains how Cliqy Technology Limited collects and uses personal information when you visit www.cliqy.co.uk, contact us or join our launch list.
It covers our public website and launch communications. It does not cover accounts, campaigns, payments or member activity within the Cliqy platform, which will have separate privacy information.
1. Who we are
Cliqy Technology Limited is the controller responsible for the personal information covered by this policy.
Company number: 17007277
Registered office: 13b Mustard, Little Underbank, Stockport, Greater Manchester, England, SK1 1LA
Privacy contact: admin@cliqy.co.uk
We handle personal information under applicable UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you complete a form or contact us, we collect your email address, the type of organisation or interest you select, and anything you include in your message. This may include your name, organisation and other contact details.
We also keep relevant correspondence and records of your communication preferences.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information or personal details about children or individual club members in website enquiries.
Information collected when you visit
Our website and its service providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring website, and the date and time of requests.
If you agree to analytics, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the website, such as pages visited, interactions, approximate location and how you arrived at the site. Cookie identifiers help distinguish visits and sessions.
Our cookie section below explains these technologies and your choices.
Why we use your information
- Responding to enquiries and discussing your interest in Cliqy. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: communicating with people who contact us and managing those enquiries.
- Managing your launch-list subscription and sending the launch updates you request. Our lawful basis is consent, given when you knowingly sign up for those emails.
- Delivering the website, its fonts and videos, and protecting it against misuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: operating a reliable and secure website.
- Understanding website usage through optional analytics. Our lawful basis is consent.
- Handling privacy requests and keeping necessary compliance records. Our lawful basis is legal obligation: meeting our data protection responsibilities.
- Investigating complaints or establishing, exercising or defending legal claims. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, or legal obligation where applicable.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on your privacy and balance our interests against your rights.
Providing information through our website is voluntary. However, we need an email address to reply to an enquiry or send launch updates. Fields that are required are identified on the form.
4. Launch-list emails
Joining the launch list allows us to email you about Cliqy’s launch, availability and how to get started.
We will not treat an ordinary enquiry as permission to add you to the launch list. Joining the list does not automatically create a platform account.
You can unsubscribe using the link in our launch-list emails or by contacting admin@cliqy.co.uk. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
Changing your cookie preferences does not unsubscribe you from emails; these are separate choices.
5. Who receives your information
We use service providers to operate the website and manage communications. These include:
- Webflow: website hosting and storage of website form submissions.
- Google Analytics: website usage measurement, subject to your analytics choice.
- CookieScript: recording and applying cookie preferences.
- Cloudflare: website delivery, security and embedded video delivery.
- Adobe Fonts: delivering the fonts used on the website.
- Email and administrative service providers: delivering correspondence and requested updates, and managing enquiry and launch-list records.
Providers receive information relevant to the services they supply. Where they process information on our behalf, this is governed by appropriate data-processing terms.
We may also disclose relevant information to professional advisers, regulators or authorities where necessary to obtain advice, meet a legal obligation or protect legal rights.
We do not sell launch-list or enquiry details, or provide them to clubs, sponsors or brands for their own marketing.
6. International processing
Some of our providers and their service providers process information outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States.
For transfers requiring protection under UK data protection law, we rely on applicable UK adequacy arrangements or appropriate contractual safeguards. These may include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, depending on the provider and transfer.
You can contact admin@cliqy.co.uk for information about the safeguards relevant to your data, including how to obtain a copy.
7. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for the purposes described in this policy and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.
- General enquiries: normally up to 12 months after the enquiry is closed. Relevant correspondence may be retained longer where discussions continue or it is needed for a complaint, legal obligation or legal claim.
- Launch-list information: while needed to send the launch communications you requested. We remove you from the active list when you unsubscribe or when those communications have finished.
- Consent and unsubscribe records: we retain limited information where needed to demonstrate consent, respect your preferences and meet our legal obligations.
- Google Analytics: the user and event data retention setting is two months. This is separate from cookie expiry and does not apply to Google Analytics’ standard aggregated reports.
- Security and technical records: retention depends on their operational purpose, whether an incident remains under investigation and any requirement to preserve evidence.
If you later create a Cliqy platform account, the information needed for that account will be covered by the platform’s privacy notice.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to remember your choices, support website security and, with your consent, measure website usage.
Necessary cookies support security and remember your cookie preferences.
Analytics cookies help us understand how people use the website. You can accept or decline these without losing access to the website or launch-list form.
The cookies used on our website are:
- CookieScriptConsent — necessary. Provided by CookieScript to remember your cookie choices. Duration: 30 days.
- _cfuvid — necessary. Provided by Cloudflare to help its security system distinguish visitors sharing an IP address when applying rate limits. Duration: session.
- _ga — analytics. Provided by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors for website usage measurement. Duration: approximately 13 months.
- _ga_CTJF2CC2H8 — analytics. Provided by Google Analytics to maintain analytics session information. Duration: approximately 13 months.
Analytics cookie expiry may be refreshed on subsequent visits while your consent remains active. Cookie lifetime is different from the retention period for information held in analytics reports.
We ask for your consent before enabling optional analytics cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice through the website’s cookie settings at any time.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect some website functions.
Embedded videos, fonts and other externally delivered resources require connections to their providers. Those connections involve technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, even where no cookie is used.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask us to:
- Provide access to your personal information and a copy.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete information.
- Restrict how we use information.
- Provide certain information in a portable format where the legal conditions apply.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You have an absolute right to object to use of your personal information for direct marketing.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Contact admin@cliqy.co.uk to exercise your rights. Requests can be made verbally or in writing. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity where necessary.
We normally respond without undue delay and within one month. Where the law allows additional time for complex or multiple requests, we will explain the extension within the initial month.
We do not normally charge for requests. If a lawful exemption or restriction applies, we will explain our decision and your options.
We do not use information covered by this website policy to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
10. Keeping information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information and limit access to people who need it for their work.
No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information through website forms.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, contact admin@cliqy.co.uk so we can investigate.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. You do not need our permission to do so.
Contact the ICO or make a complaint.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change and show the revised date above.
Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will provide appropriate notice. If a new use requires your consent, we will ask for it before proceeding.
